About the role

The purpose of this position is to implement and lead Health, Safety and Environmental programs (HSE) relative to a large corporate life sciences account.

What you'll do

• Leads programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and HSE needs of a client account(s). Evaluates new and existing programs to assess suitability and the need for changes.
• Monitors injury, illness, and incident related performance within the account, market area, or other assigned area of responsibility. Monitors performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance and develops and implements strategic solutions that will improve performance results.
• Coordinates Health, Safety and Environmental plans, playbooks, and procedures. Ensures information is current, complete and effectively implemented.
• Supervises regulatory compliance. Communicates all findings, concerns, and deficiencies to the responsible managers to effect timely and vital corrections.
• Assists in finding opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing quality of services for a client/account.
• Promotes safety consciousness among employees by providing accurate and informational data, conducting safety meetings, and giving timely feedback on safety suggestions and supporting the safety program(s).
• Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.
• Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.
  
  What you'll need
  
  Bachelors degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years of related experience in life sciences facilities.
  
  Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local health & safety, and environmental regulation.
  
  Direct experience working with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers.
  
  Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) is preferred
  
  Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong organizational skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to critical issues.
  
  Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires analytical and quantitative skills.
  
  Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project schedules.

      • California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the HSE Manager is $115,000 annually and the maximum is $134,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
