Your Role on the Team
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of the
Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation (DTEI), the Director
of Professional Development provides leadership and supervision for
the implementation of a professional development curriculum
designed for faculty, graduate students, and all members of the
instructional teams to enhance overall instruction on campus.
Responsibilities include supervising and directing the activities
of professional training staff, organizing the professional
development curriculum and overseeing work plans and goals;
requiring excellent people management skills and ability to
evaluate the performance of subordinates. Sets the short-term goals
and priorities and provides day-to-day oversight of program
development and delivery. This role also plans, budgets and
coordinates the implementation of various professional development
activities (i.e. workshops, panels, institutes, etc.) and directly
supervises a team of professional staff across various specialties
of instructional design and educational development; ensures
compliance with accessibility standards and collaborates with DTEI
stakeholders to ensure alignment of divisional priorities.
Collaborates with the DTEI leadership team for strategic alignment.
Recommends changes to department policies and practices.
