Summary:

The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical design principles, proficiency in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and a keen attention to detail in drafting and modeling. You will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance teams to create and update product models and detailed drawings for our Aurora product line.



Key Responsibilities:

CAD Design and Development: Create, modify, and update detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for medical device components and assemblies using SolidWorks CAD software.
Product Development: Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering teams to enhance existing product designs, incorporating Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and ensuring all drawings are properly dimensioned and comply with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
Design Optimization: Analyze and optimize designs to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance performance without compromising quality. Complete tolerance analyses and component assembly analyses to ensure assemblies fit together and operate as intended.
Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including CAD drawings, design history files, and engineering change orders (ECOs), ensuring accuracy and traceability.
Compliance Assurance: Ensure all activities adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies to maintain compliance with internal and external standards.
Collaboration and Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to achieve seamless integration of device components. Provide clear and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.



Education:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field is required.
3D Solid Model CAD and drafting training is required, preferably Solidworks.



Experience:

8-10 years of experience in product design for medical devices or similar products is required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (specifically SolidWorks) is required
Knowledge and experience in application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), in alignment with the ASME Y14.5 GD&T Standard is required
Design for Manufacturing and Assembly knowledge is required.
Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other design analysis tools is desired.
Understanding of materials used in medical devices is required.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and attention to detail are desired
Certifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified SolidWorks Professional) are desired.

Pay Transparency:

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $ 50.00 - $ 56.00 /hr. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
